- The BNB Beacon Chain token recovery tool is now in Phase 1 of its sunset, and 7-day processing will only be available until April 30.
- Only mirrored BEP2 tokens are recoverable; holders of unmirrored assets risk permanently losing them.
BNB Chain has begun a phased shutdown of the BNB Beacon Chain Token Recovery Tool, announcing a structured deadline for holders of BEP2 assets. The migration tool, developed to facilitate movement between the BNB Beacon Chain and BNB Smart Chain, will undergo a three-stage sunset. Any token holder who wants to have their requests processed through the regular channel must submit them before April 30, 2026.
The BNB Beacon Chain ceased operations on November 19, 2024, as part of the network consolidation into BNB Smart Chain under the BNB Chain Fusion plan. Following the shutdown, the recovery mechanism was introduced on December 3, 2024, under BEP299 to provide eligible users with a migration pathway.Â

Under Phase 1, which runs through April 30, 2026, requests continue to be processed within a seven-day service-level agreement. From May 1 to June 30, 2026, Phase 2 will shift recovery to batch processing, extending the service-level agreement to a maximum of one month.Â
Beginning July 1, 2026, Phase 3 will require manual handling and transaction signing by the users, resulting in longer waiting periods. BNB Chain has indicated that additional operational details for the final stage will be released separately.
Recently, CNF reported that BNB Chain enabled AI agents to execute on-chain actions through messaging apps following Pieverse’s launch of Purr-Fect Claw. The service allows users to instruct AI agents via platforms such as WhatsApp and LINE to perform DEX swaps, portfolio rebalancing, and smart contract calls within a secure execution environment.
BNB Beacon Chain Token Recovery Tool Eligibility CriteriaÂ
To complete the migration process, users must connect a compatible Beacon Chain wallet, such as BNB Chain Wallet or Trust Wallet Extension, to the official recovery portal. They must then provide a receiving address on BNB Smart Chain that holds BNB to pay the transaction gas fee. When a request has been submitted, its assets are released after a processing period.
BNB Chain has also warned its users against using third-party recovery companies. Fraudulent schemes targeting token holders have sprung up since the Beacon Chain shutdown was announced. The legitimate recovery instrument is available on the official website, and users should verify the correct web address before connecting their wallets.
Now that the first phase of the sunset has begun, BEP2 token holders must complete migrations before extended delays in the coming months.
CNF reported that Changpeng Zhao welcomed the launch of zBNB on the network, marking the introduction of private BNB transactions through the zERC20 standard.Â
